Sponsor Process
The Canadian government makes a strong commitment on uniting loved ones with each other and bringing families together. Temporary foreign workers or permanent residents of Canada can bring their dependents (child or adopted child) to reside with them in Canada. For this process to occur the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will access and review both the child and sponsor to grant visa for the dependent. Proof of relationship will be required, and possible documentation for adopted child. If successful, the dependent can freely study and work in Canada.
