Overview
Usually, the process of being able to work in Canada for business owners would be gaining their work permit through a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This is a whole different process in it's own, however it does become a bit difficult and refusals may be often seen if the process is not followed correctly.
So for business owners who own over 50% of a business, this is an alternative stream under LMIA to go through for gaining a work permit. Primarily this is offered to provide international business owners the ability to operate their business in Canada.
